Steven
A. Herbst![]() HISTORY Steve is a teacher with Human Health and the Environment as his specialty. He began his career in 1970, at the age of 20, as a Respiratory Therapy Technician. Certified by the “National Board of Respiratory Therapy,” he expanded his horizons as a Certified Respiratory Therapist. Completing just short of 14 years of in-hospital clinical care, he branched out into the home health care arena in association with well known local health care agencies and physicians. He still has his fingers in the health care world as a consultant providing lung volume and blood oxygen diagnostic testing. In 1986, he determined that his career needed a boost. He propelled himself into the preventive health field as opposed to the already compromised chronically debilitated persons. He found himself studying the affects of exposure to asbestos in greater detail. In 1987 he took his initial asbestos related training at the Georgia Technical Institute in Atlanta, Georgia becoming certified as an asbestos professional. He continued to pursue all aspects of the asbestos industry, to include the issues pursuant to occupation and private sector exposure to “Lead Based” contamination, on a full time basis. He also enjoys traveling the state as an independent asbestos trainer to the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulator’s and Asbestos Worker’s, as well as being the owner of S. A. Herbst & Assoc., LLC, an abatement training organization.
